OKAY GUYS. BECAUSE RELLE AND I HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO AND SAIGI ALREADY SPRINGBOARDED US WITH A TRANSLATION OF CHAPTER 1...

We come to you guys for help. I'm already working on editing chapter 1, and Relle is working on translating Chapter 2 to help Saigi. She says she'll be more willing to continue if we can get either one of the following:

1) Additional translating help
2) Transcribing help

Both would be awesome.

What would a transcriber do, you ask? Basically all you'd have to do is copy the original Japanese text onto a document. This is to help me when trying to figure out which lines go where, but it also takes a long time. Currently Relle is doing both, but if she could have someone who can at least type Japanese even without fully understanding it, it would cut the work load by a lot. Relle also notes there are a lot of programs/tools available so that all you'd have to do is "write" the kanji and the computer will automatically figure out what it is.

More than one person would be great. I already have up to chapter 3 available for RAW download, and I recently just finished putting together chapter 4. I'll get to chapter 5 when I'm either done scanlating chapter 1 or need a break, but you can still view the previous chapters online. The links are available here.

So who wants to help?

Actually you could probably e-mail and ask :O Relle had also just some notes already about those chapters when it first came out, and she could probably help with some of the stuff we figured out while I was editing it. Her e-mail is relle(at)superior-intellect.net, or you could try her Livejournal (kaerstyne.livejournal.com). Only thing is the LJ notification system is down so any message notifications will be delayed _._; Should be back to normal within a few days though.

I'm being reeeally slow when it comes to the actual editing/scanlating part (I still have about 5-6 more pages and that's before the QC OTL) so speed/time isn't much of an issue. But if you two could figure out how to divvy up the work (like you take some chapters and Relle takes the other set), it'll go faster. Relle could also send you what she has of her translations and vice versa.

Saigi - I am doing REALLY rough translations of stuff at the moment, and most of what I have for Chapter 2 is actually from months and months ago when the series first starting coming out. Laena told me you were working on it, and I was all "YAY A SECOND OPINION" so I actually haven't done much with it yet because I was curious to see what you had first. So, do continue what you're doing!

Don't worry, as long as I can get the meaning I can figure out a way to word it right. Usually the real problem is fitting it into the bubbles and not making it look like a complete mess, so sometimes what I have is completely different than what y'all put, but has the exact same meaning.

Yeah, I know some of the sentences make sense in Japanese but in english...well they need tampering. I'm just not comfortable tampering with them. >.<; So I'll let you do it ^.^/

Like Lae said in the first post, you basically just copy over what the original Japanese says and save it as a .txt file. So, like, what I have for Ch2 looks like this:

etc.

The trick being that most of it's in kanji, so if you don't know that kanji off the top of your head it's more difficult. But, there's things like this where you draw in what the kanji looks like and it finds it for you, and the functionality to do so is actually built into most OS's these days. (Windows, Windows, and I don't know how to do it on a Mac, but I know Peo does.)

The point of this being that a) it's easier to c/p bits into a dictionary or Google if I need to look up something while translating, and b) it's easier for Lae to figure out what translation goes with what bubble when she's editing.
